(crochet) How To - Crochet Iris Stitch Finger-less Mittens



Fingerless mittens

Chunky, bulky weight 5
Babysoft
H hook:  5mm

Chain 30 (working 4 x table) (to 28; add 2)  average size
Bigger:  up to 32 + 2 to 34; smaller:  24 +2 = 26
Untwist chains;  make sure chains are flat and facing the same direction
Connect as a circle:  put hook into the first chain; then yo from the back and slip stitch )tail at top)
Still have 30 chains

Chain 3 after slip stich
Skip 2 chains
In next stips do 2 dc (yo, skip 2, hook into next chain; then 2 double crochet; yo again into same chain and dc
Chain 1
Another 2 dc in same chain
Creates 1st fan stitch:  chain 1, 2 dc; chain 1 2 dc or the iris stitch
Skip 3 chains
Another fan set: 2 dc
Repeat (skip 3 and then iris stitch)
At end should have 2 stitches left;  skip those and do a slip stitch in top of the 3 chain

Row 2
Chain 3 ( should have 7 fan sets)
Work into chain 1 space: work our next fan set.
Work next fan set into next chain 1 space (don’t chain up); just yo
Slip stitch into top of 3 chains

Row 3
Repeat (start with 3 chains, next fans into chain 1)
Do 9 rounds to bring you to round 11

Round 12 (thumb hole)
Chain 3
Fan set in chain 1 spaces for only 5 fan sets (not all 7)
Skip next stitch
In 2nd stictch (in between 2 fansets) make a fan set there
Then go straight over to slipstitch in the 3rd stitch of chain (skip over)

Then do another couple of rounds (13 & 14)
Do fansets in chain 1 spaces
(now have 6 fans)
then at end of round 14
just slipstitch at the end

            what do we want for all of our kids;  what does success look like?
            give them more opportunities to engage in cohorts and articulate
 
            when you work with those teachers do you have an asset based mindset
            do we have a common vision in our departments?
