Sentences of Feelings

The plants sit at their places breathing stillness.
Do they feel my stare, at their greenness.
At the red, red fire of coleus?
They right now are my company
We talk silently
Speaking sentences of feelings.

I found an old big bed sitting in the snow.
That I lose myself in
Under covers, warm and cozy.
A lamp sits over my shoulder softly shining.
And an old dog lays at my feet.
They right now are my company
We talk silently
Speaking sentences of feelings.

Did you know sometimes I'm lonely
missing the touch of a human hand,
hearing a voice speak meaningfully to me?
And sometimes I don't need anybody,
I can be alone for hours on end.
To hear the silence
To feel what's around me.

The wind howls outside
It is snowing
White and silver falling from the sky
It seems to never end.
And darkness descends all around.
They right now are my company
We talk silently
Speaking sentences of feelings.

Did you know I want you only
When I can be free to say the truth
Talking about what we've been going through?
And I can love you only
Slowly as the  night becomes the day
Needing me as much as needing you!

Numbers on the clock upon my desk say 5:55.
Silence will soon be broken
People coming inside.
And a hand reaches out for mine.
Now I seek different company
We talk expressively
Speaking sentences of our feelings.
